The Reverend Carlos L. Senior is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born October 1, 1975, the oldest of three children sown by God into the union of Charles and Margie Senior. Pastor Senior’s life is empirical evidence of the efficacy of God’s prevenient Grace.
Under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Dr. Joseph Gordon of the
Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Senior preached his initial
sermon on April 27, 1997 at the age of 21. On that day he began a lifetime
of proclaiming the ancient message of prophets and apostles alike, "Come
now and let us reason together, saith the Lord”
A former student of Saint Petersburg College Rev. Senior is currently
enrolled at Trinity College of Florida as he continues a lifelong pursuit
of preparation for the Father’s next plan.
Rev. Senior was ordained on June 29, 2003 by Dr. Gordon and was installed
as the tenth Pastor of the historic New Hope Missionary Baptist Church
of St. Petersburg on November 23, 2003. Pastor Senior’s commitment to
“encourage, empower and equip” the saints of God has led to the successful
implementation of a variety of ministries and programs that nurture
the growth of the New Hope Church family.
Under Pastor Senior's guidance, the Church has revitalized the sanctuary
and Christian Education facilities, stablished an Administrative wing
and is positioned for expansion. With an emphasis on the “Great Commission”
the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church membership has grown from a modest
100 members to a congregation of several hundred strong.
Pastor Senior has been married to his self-described B.F.F., closest
confidant and cherished counselor the former Chantell Graham since May
2, 1998. With the addition of twenty or more ministries; six ministry
directors, countless facility improvements, full-time and part-time
staff, “the Hope” is poised to continue in her rich legacy of offering
Help to the hurting, Opportunity to the disenfranchised, Peace to the
troubled and Empowerment to the weak. I Love You So Much!!!S
